Women Networking and Strengthening

CIWA’s first theme is to strengthen the solidarity and network of the indigenous women to have a strong and functioned system from the grassroots to the national levels. 

At the village level, we study the challenges, needs, and potential areas of indigenous women, and facilitate the selection of indigenous women representatives. We regularly conduct meetings, consultations, and action plan for indigenous women as well as conduct study tour to exchange experiences among indigenous communities. 

Capacity building and Empowerment of indigenous women

  • Establish indigenous women experts/elders to document the values, identity and/or ideology for the indigenous women in Cambodia
  • Document and prepare curriculum for the values, identity and/or ideology for the indigenous women in
  • Conduct a series of training courses about ideology, feminist views and gender perspectives related to indigenous women.

Campaigning and Advocacy

  • Study about the issues and cases that indigenous women faced (Ex. Land, forest, rape & murdered, successful cases, good practices, culture, traditions, handicraft, history… etc of the indigenous women).
  • Collect and compile secondary data/publications related to indigenous women for distribution and stored in the indigenous
  • Produce and publish the research/cases documentation in needed forms (printed, podcasted and/or video forms).
  • Establish indigenous library and digital one as document centre for publication related to indigenous women and indigenous peoples for information accessible to
  • Organize formal and informal/offline and online events to awareness about to public, indigenous peoples and relevant stakeholders about the available documents and publications related to indigenous.
