Meet Our Amazing Women from the Communities
Since its establishment, CIWA has had the opportunity to work with various groups of Indigenous women across Cambodia. In this journey, guided by our Indigenous wisdoms and values, we have learned and engaged with different levels of international, regional, and national platforms to make our Indigenous women’s voices heard and respect our Indigenous rights.
Roeun Heng, the Bunong
Reoun Heng is an entrepreneur, tour guide, activist, and defender of her community’s Indigenous territory. She has dedicated herself to improving the economic conditions of Indigenous Women and protecting sacred lands.
Loun Nin, the Kui
Nin has a very deep connection to her community forest, driving her to protect the land and natural resources that serve as the primary source of food, spiritual worship, beliefs, and indigenous identity. She holds exemplary and innate leadership in coordinating with women’s groups to contribute to community development.
